Flooring show Harrogate showing strongly
According to organisers, 70% of the space for the September Flooring Show in Harrogate is already reserved.
The event has also been nominated for awards from the Exhibition News Marketing Awards, which honour innovation and best practices in the industry.
The two categories are Best Email Campaign of the Year and B2B Marketing Campaign of the Year, digital marketing campaigns that are included in the package for promoting all event exhibitors.

Sustainability – are we making progress?
There is a lot of “green rhetoric,” but are actual advancements being made in the flooring and building industries?
Companies in our sector are currently moving to more sustainable working practises and adjusting to the need to mitigate global warming in a variety of ways and at varying rates. Competition pressures, investment opportunities, the availability of new technology, and alternative raw materials are the main causes of these variances.

Domotex splits show focus to secure its future
The world’s largest flooring trade expo, Domotex, has daring new plans to switch its emphasis every two years between carpets and rugs and hard flooring.
After two years of Covid restrictions, the Hannover show was reopened in January. While organisers Deutsche Messe hailed the event as a “complete success,” attendance was only about 20,000, compared to 35,000 before the pandemic, and exhibitor numbers were down by about 50%.

Strong start for flooring in 2023
Flooring retail sales saw double-digit rise at the beginning of the year, defying the general declining trend in the furniture industry.
The Office for National Statistics’ most recent data shows that floorcovering retail sales increased in January from £202.4 million to £225.1 million, an increase of 11.2% from the previous month. Sales dropped from £231.2m by 2.6% from the same month last year, though.

The facts about flooring apprenticeships
In order to give our sector a consistent and well-trained source of skills and labour, more floor-laying apprenticeships must be made available, according to Shaun Wadsworth.
Apprenticeships are a critical strategy in the fight against the skills shortages brought on by an ageing workforce and hiring an apprentice can immediately boost a company’s production. In order to maintain, create, and agree upon apprenticeship standards and frameworks that fulfil the objectives of the business while also providing a desirable career path for young people and those wishing to change industries, the CFA continuously collaborates with industry leaders.
