THE FLOORING INDUSTRY TRAINING ASSOCIATION

The Flooring Industry Training Association (FITA) offered a Black Friday 20% sale offering discounts on Q1 2021 courses booked by 4th December. From their Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update “The FITA Training Centre is COVID SECURE and remains open to deliver training courses to the commercial and domestic flooring sectors.” Their range of carpet, vinyl, linoleum, resilient, wood, subfloor and qualifications can be found on their website.


FSB WEBINAR – FINAL CHECK: YOUR TRANSITION QUESTIONS ANSWERED

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) UK offered a free Brexit webinar on 16th  December relating to the end of the transition period. On 1st January 2021 the UK will have left the transition period and new rules relating to trade, immigration, data transfers, and more will apply.

THE CONTRACT FLOORING ASSOCIATION BLOG FOR CORONAVIRUS AND BREXIT UPDATES

The Contract Flooring Association (CFA) blog continues to be a useful source of flooring industry news. “Welcome to the CFA Blog. This area will be used to inform members on topics such as Coronavirus (Covid-19), Brexit, relevant industry and other news, training information and updates, and also case studies and articles from CFA members.” The CFA blog can be found on this link.


CARPET TRANSPORT FIRM ENTERS ADMINISTRATION

“Rhys Davies Logistics, a major specialist distribution service to the carpet industry, has called in the administrators, blaming the pandemic for an “unsustainable loss or revenue.” The company has a fleet of 170 vehicles, many of which are specially design to handle carpet distribution for a number of UK flooring suppliers.
It is understood that substantial stocks of flooring are currently grounded in nine depots and 560,000 sq ft of warehousing that Rhys Davies operates across the UK.” This is an extract of the article which can be found on The Stocklists website on this link.


TIER 4 – CONSTRUCTION CAN CONTINUE

“You will have all seen the announcement about the creation of a new Tier 4 level of restrictions, which will apply in London and the South East of England. The new rules impose greater restrictions on those living in Tier 4 areas, similar to those applying during March and April, although their main aim is to reduce social interactions between people living in different households.
